What We Do
Our projects
Safe Drinking Water Access Project
The Safe Drinking Water Access Project is BIFEAN’s flagship initiative focused on ensuring household-level access to safe and clean drinking water across Nepal. Through the promotion, installation, and quality monitoring of biosand filters, this project provides sustainable and affordable water treatment solutions to communities, especially in high-risk areas like the Terai region.
In coordination with municipalities and local governments, BIFEAN works to identify vulnerable households, promote proper filter use, maintain quality standards, and conduct follow-up monitoring. The project not only improves water quality but also reduces waterborne diseases and strengthens public health at the community level.
Key Focus Areas:
Household biosand filter installation
Quality control and standardization
Technical monitoring and follow-up
Targeting underserved and vulnerable communities
